This is the 5th in a series of wild harvesting videos I will be creating & sharing throughout the season. I hope to help people to learn a little about the food that is all around them, and encourage them to try something new!
In this video, I share a bit of the history of this underrated plant, how to identify it and use it. My favorite way to use it is o make a pesto…learn how, it’s so easy it’s ridiculous.
June in northern Minnesota brings a riot of fruit trees & shrubs in bloom that we can look forward to later in the season. But why not enjoy the beauty they have to offer now and take a moment to get to know them. Soon they will become old friends!
As the second in my new series of wild foraging videos, I show you a quick saute I pulled together using what was available that day…dandelion greens, day lily shoots & tubers, curly & yellow dock leaves & roots and stinging nettle shoots. It was delicious!
While spring is rapidly being replaced by summer, there is still time…go out and walk through your back yard or neighborhood looking for them and try you hand at it!
