Join us on Saturday, September 27th for the 1st annual Apple Expo!
The morning workshop is geared towards backyard, beginning and “wanna-be” apple growers of any level. The class will provide an overview of issues related to growing apple trees in NE Minnesota and an introduction to organic and Integrated Pest Management (IPM). There will be handouts on specific topics covered, including an introduction to apple trees and varieties and rootstock and the primary pests and diseases to be aware of in our growing region. You will be introduced to the “annual cycle of orchards” including methods for monitoring and dealing with potential pests or diseases.
