We LOVE walking onions, also know and Egyptian onions, because they are so easy to grow, produce all year long and readily self-reproduce in your garden. In spring they produce lovely flavorful scallions. As the summer moves along they form small bulbs that look & taste a lot like shallots. They produce cluster of bulbets on the tips of the leave which fall over and root, thus propagating themselves for you! They overwinter very well outside and even grow well in pots so you can have some all year-long if you want!
