Traditionally this combination of fruit, sugar and vinegar was used to preserve fruits before refrigeration by adding enough sugar and acidity to prevent spoilage. Today, we are using this exciting play among fruit, sweetness and tartness in wonderful syrups for making delicious sparkling sodas and creative cocktails.
We use our artisanal Rhubarb Vinegar with our own honey, mint and apple cider to make three stunning shrubs. As with our vinegars, our shrubs get their rich and bright flavors from our locally produced and fresh ingredients. Each bottle has a hang tag that describes what a Shrub is and provided one sparkling soda recipe and two cocktail recipes to get people started using them in creative and delicious ways. When we sample the sparkling sodas in store demos customers love them!
